Patient Navigation

Patient Navigation was founded by Dr. Freeman in 1990, as he initiated and developed the first Patient Navigation program in Harlem, NY to reduce disparities in access to diagnosis and treatment of cancer, particularly among low income and uninsured patients.

"No person with cancer
should have to spend
more time fighting
their way through
the cancer care system
than fighting their disease."

--Dr. Harold P. Freeman, founder of Patient Navigation
